Wanted: Used Children’s Books

For Mmakgori Primary School in Mmakgori, Botswana
African Library Book Drive At Skyland Church
Donate Books from October through November 15
The African Library Project creates libraries in Africa by partnering US book drives with a school or community in Africa. The Skyland book drive, here in the Santa Cruz Mountains, will donate 1,000 used children’s books and the necessary $500 to send the books to Africa. The African partner school provides a building or room, shelves, furniture and a teacher-librarian. Our book drive has been partnered in Botswana with Mmakgori Primary School in Mmakgori, Botswana.  Mmakgori Primary School serves 179 students in grades 1-7 and has 10 teachers. It is exciting to realize that these children in Botswana will be reading our gently used books in their first library next year!
